This project consisted of structural evaluation and repair of an existing dock for support of a 45 ton rotating gantry crane. The existing structure was severely deteriorated and required strengthening measures to provide for the load requirements of this 1940s World War Two vintage structure. The scope of the project included an inspection of the crane and its supporting members, a detailed structural evaluation of the existing structural members (for strengthening to support this large movable crane), a repair plan for the existing structural systems, and inspection of the completed repair. The results of the project were a safe crane support structure for completion of certification, testing, and use of the existing crane.
